Best 5 Bridal Accessories for the Offbeat Bride

As you guys may know, Alex and I tied the knot less than 3 months ago- and it was the most beautiful and special day in our lives so far. I could not have been happier with everything about our wedding, from the people who were there to celebrate with us, to the venue, to the flowers, the band, and of course, my bridal look!

Now I wasnโ€™t your typical bride, with the big white dress and classic accessories- instead I wore a light pink dress with applique flowers (which Alexโ€™s mom made for me), a pink veil and an offbeat bridal tiara, which I loved to bits and kept on my head the whole night. It really tied the whole look together, matching my champagne coloured sandals and adding that extra bit of interest to my hairdo.

So you can imagine how excited I was to be able to collaborate with Kata Banko Couture, a brand rooted in deep family connections (the name comes from the owner’s grandma), which produces whimsical accessories that match my bridal style to a T. Chic, sophisticated and original, their headpieces and sashes can be worn by brides, bridal parties and guests alike.

With the launch of their latest Axis collection on the 18.11, they’ve combined a mix of materials and textures, precious gemstones and metal flower and leaf arrangements, to create unique pieces that can be worn well after your wedding day. I was lucky enough to be given some of their products to try,ย  and I want to share my top 5 favorites with you! If you are looking for that special final touch to your wedding look, get inspired by:

A solar detail perfect for the natural, earthy bride, this tiara is pure magic. Its complex details make it a showstopper, allowing you to keep your bridal hairdo as simple and soft as you want it.

According to Colleen Bankovich, head designer, “My bride appreciates craft and quality, and is in touch and in tune to the world around her. She loves beautiful things and is a free spirit. This bride is marrying the love of her life – thatโ€™s her only focus, and my biggest inspiration.” This spoke to me on every level, as I believe the whole purpose of a wedding lies in the love that unites two people.

I would love to hear from you guys as well now- what look did you choose for your wedding day? Or if the day is not behind you yet, what look are you planning on creating for yourselves- classic, romantic, uber-chic, trendy, boho & relaxed? Leave it all in the comments and tell me- are these Kata Banko Couture pieces something you would wear on your big day? I know I would have donned them in a heartbeat- might have to keep them in mind for our wedding anniversary!
