5 End of Winter Styling Ideas to Bring Excitement Back Into Your Wardrobe

I don’t know about you gals, but every year when winter was almost ending, and spring just around the corner, I’d get a weird pang of “Ugh… I need to have my legs and arms out again. And I should get going on some new spring styling ideas too!?” ๐Ÿ˜’

Which was a completely weird thing to think considering how much I’ve always LOVED summer, colourful clothing and going out with my friends, enjoying the sunshine.

But without fail, that was my first thought every spring ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™€๏ธ

And in time, I came to realize it was coming from a place of numbness brought on by the winter-fashion blues.

Because I was feeling sick of all my sweaters, jeans, boots and thick coats.
Yet I was also unwilling to start playing with other items too.

And that actually finally clicked, because here’s the thing:

Creativity is a muscle too!

And- whether in fashion styling, writing, content creation or any other area- you need to train it if you want to use it to its full potential ๐Ÿ˜‰๐Ÿ’ช

So, for those of you feeling those blues right about now too, I want to help you shake them off by the end of February- with the help of these 5 exciting winter-spring styling ideas (with pieces you probably already have!) ๐Ÿ’ฅ๐Ÿ’ƒ

Double Down on the Dress

If you’ve got a really nice dress that’s been your faithful winter workhorse, you can still get more out of it!

By layering a second dress over it, you can create an absolutely new and fun look- one that’s sure to get your creative engine running, and allow you to get the most out of your wardrobe.

I opted for an easy-breezy, button down belted shirt dress. But you can go for all sorts of cuts, patterns and fits!

The only requirement?

An open mind and sunny mindset, to allow you to experiment with your own right pairing!

Pops of Colours & Prints

Another easy & chic way of getting some extra excitement out of our “been there, done that… all winter” looks?

Adding pops of red to an otherwise everyday WFH white shirt + black jeans outfit ๐Ÿ’ฅ

As a bonus, I also picked a leopard print accent in the form of the shirt collar- which happens to work great with the red accents.

But if you’re not a fan of ๐Ÿ† in fashion, there are plenty of statement detachable collars you can get your creative freak on with ๐Ÿ’ƒ

And of course, if you’re not feeling too hot about red, you can choose any other vibrant hue to inject some life into an otherwise plain & simple look!

Which colours would you go for?

In the Winter Sun(Dress)

Next, shining a light on your sundresses- which are likely tucked in the back of your wardrobe right about now.

Let me tell you:

They can- and deserve to- see the light of winter days too!
You just need a weather-appropriate high-neck sweater and thick tights, to be ready to take them out for a spin about town โค๐Ÿ‘—

This is one of the most practiced styling ideas when it comes to cold day, although I usually see it the other way around: a big, fluffy sweater worn comfortably over a dress.

Let me know which way you prefer it!

Change Your Denim Ways

I know jeans are such an easy, go-to item when you just want to be done with your outfit.
But what if you want something a bit different?

I say: keep the denim, ditch the jeans!

A denim dress is just as easy and casual, while still bringing a little something extra to the table ๐Ÿ‘—๐Ÿ‘–

If you go for a pinafore cut like mine, you can also layer it over a mariniรจre T-Shirt, which just screams sun, summer and outdoors- three things I feel like we’re all missing right now ๐ŸŒ„ (*go for a red one like mine, for some extra summer-cherry vibes ๐Ÿ’)

And if temperatures are still down in your area too, you can keep your opaque tights on- the rawness of the denim allows it to not get overpowered by thicker textures.

So, what do you think?
Yay or Nay on giving the denim dress a try?

When in Doubt: Print it Out!

This skirt to me is the clothing equivalent of a ladybug: sweet, polka-dotted, and so twirl-inducing you’re a step away from taking off in it!

And the perfect way to make the most out of this printed beauty is (in my eyes) pairing it with another print.

This is a surefire way to make any outfit pop more, and a great little trick that makes a look seem 10 times more styled (even if it took 10 minutes to get ready!)

I wrote more about pairing prints in a previous article here. So if you’ve been wanting to give this style move a go, but never felt like you knew just how to make it look good, make sure to give it a read!

Now, I hope that this article has managed to put a smile on your face. And, more importantly, that it’s also given you a little extra creative boost!
